Workshop description

Come out to Putnam Plastics for an exciting morning of polymer chemistry and high precision analytical instruments. Putnam Plastics produces components for medical devices such as insulin pumps and heart catheters. Ray Rilling, Director of Advanced Technology Development, will take us through the development, production, and testing of some of their products. You will enjoy the chance to see how they use chemistry to inform and direct their design choices and how they measure the quality of their products. We will finish the morning with some hands-on activities that you can do with your classes to explore polymer chemistry in the classroom.
